well it's gonna be a while until i get my next check, so hopefully the pump doesn't completely die on me within the next month and a half.

:helpsmilie: ok well being on the topic of a new fuel pump, today my truck to a while to start like usual, after driving it for about ten minutes i started to pull a hill in third gear. I started to give it gas and i got nothing, no rpm increase or anything, then the truck just completely died. Only thing i can think of is maybe the fuel pump just gave out completely. I tried starting it but it just sat there and cranked over. I couldn't hear the fuel pump turning on when i turned the key on, but it was pretty busy out on the highway and kinda loud. I hate when i postpone stuff to long and it turns around and kick me in a$$.  :argh:

Push the schrader valve on your fuel rail after turning the key to run....is there a good squirt of fuel coming out of it?  Sometimes when a FP is dying, you can bang on the tank pretty hard and it will get a tiny bit of life back into it---plan on replacing it soon, it may not start again.

I went back down to the truck today, turned the key and the fp doesn't prime, no noises what so ever. Tow truck comes in bout an hour and a half and see what happens from here.

that sux!

Sounds like you're buying a fuel tank module

Check around at the local parts stores for one (if the shop will install your parts)

They are a bunch cheaper than the OEM one

just got back from meeting with the tow truck. The trucks off to a shop now that always seems to give me a fairly decent price. Usually a couple hundred cheaper than other shops. They do good work and i'm gonna trust them to get this done quick and right. I'd upload a pic of the truck going away but i can't seem to find the sd card for my phone.

i'm so glad that there are so many smileys to display my feelings on today. Already i wasn't that happy with having my truck towed, then having a mechanic work on it. Today i got a call saying that my truck was done at the shop, so i went and picked it up, i didn't even make it 5 miles from the shop when i get no throttle response, then the truck dies again, this time they put in a new fuse for the fuel pump but apparently it shorted out, well the shop sends a mechanic to me on the side of the road, he puts in a new fuse, i turn the key and that fuse blows, apparentely theres a short somewhere thats killing the fuses now, so for the second time in a week it's been towed to the shop and thats where it sits now and probably won't see it again until next week. This really sucks.
