shocks
« on: February 21, 2014, 12:20:59 am »
I have an 89 w100 that appears to have 3 inch lift blocks under the front leaf springs. I am assuming the previous owner wanted the front level with the back? Anyway I need new front shocks. Do I need shocks for lifted trucks or will standard size shocks work? I looked on Rockauto and the measurements for the shocks look very close. Also I am going to replace the rear shocks. There is the same size block in back as there is in the front. Is the back considered lifted or standard height?

Bilsten (sp) has a shock for a 2/3" front leveling but don't know if they have it for your year

Sorry about that Smitty. You have helped me on here before. I haven't posted anything in a while. Anyway, I'm Chris. I live in North Carolina. I have a 1989 Dodge W100, 318. I bought it from a guy who had it in his yard for 3 years. It ran great for a year and now little things are tearing up. Right now I am working on a fuel leak at the tank, a hesitation under normal acceleration issue, and looking for some shocks. They look like factory shocks that were painted red but I'm not sure. There are 3 inch lift blocks at the front so I figure I need shocks for 3 inch lifted trucks? I am also not sure if the rear blocks are standard or if they were added so I am not sure if the rear of the truck is considered lifted.

Sorry about the attitude guys. I am getting very frustrated with my truck right now as every time I fix something...something else breaks in the process. :banging: I haven't driven it in 3 months because this crappy winter weather has kept me out from under it. So again, I apologize for the attitude.
