06 ticking noise?
« on: January 13, 2009, 03:40:57 pm »
Should there be any ticking noises?
The noise I hear sounds like a gasoline engine low on oil.
My oil level is in the safe band.
Just changed w/ zero problems around Thanksgiving time, Valvoline/Cummins Premium Blue.
I don't think that this noise happened when I got the truck.
BTW, I got the truck in Oct. w/ 9421 miles, it now has 144xx miles.

For what its worth I notice a little more top end valve noise in my 07 if I use Valvoline premium blue vs Rotella T 15W-40.

That's strange.
I guess I'm paranoid, I really want to keep this truck in the best condition I can.
Though, I have been driving it daily since I got it, I LOVE to drive this truck!
