Hey guys, are the late 98/99-02) 2nd gen cab lights the same as the 3rd gen cab lights? im about an arm hair away from installing 3rd gen LED cab lights on my truck but i want to first make sure they ill work on it. if anyone knows please let me know.
-
the bolt pattern on the light is different
-
ya but i dont have lights at all and so the bolts (screws) will be installed when light is installed.
-
SO What's the Difference between the two lights to want the 3rd Gen lights
-
the bolt holes.....
-
OH OK
-
no its the fact 3rd gen lights are LED
-
3rd gen lights are bulbs just like all the others. You can get amber leds to go in the sockets though.
-
i have yet to see a Ram come with LED's stock
-
these arent OEM cab lights their by pacer performance
-
When you set them on the roof, does it fit like it should?
-
No idea on fit. Since asking this on various forums I know of other 2nd gens with 3rd gen cab lights so I'd assume they fit pretty well.

That's a right expensive toy to be experimenting with. I would just drop the coin & get 2nd gen led cab lights, that way you know they work. kilch123 has some recons on his & seems to be very pleased. Just my :cents: :cents:

If you go with Recon, buy replacement screws (stainless steel) before you install them
the junk screws they send with them will rust and crack the lenses

I second that notion
