Title: fuel pump replacement
Post by: ram1500 on June 20, 2014, 11:21:58 pm
I am replacing the fuel pump on my 97 Ram 1500 (5.2L engine), have the bed lifted and properly blocked and ready to remove the old pump from the fuel tank. My question is how do I do a pressure relief on the system. I could not find a relief valve on the fuel rail anywhere. Evidently some models have them and others don't. It appears that mine doesn't have one. Anyone have a suggestion on how else can I do this and how critical is this step? Thanks for your input!
