Post by: RamItOne on July 09, 2008, 08:21:38 pm: dangit tobin why couldnt you have had the lighter blue truck. thats what i have and have been debating between oem orange cab lights or recon smoked. if my truck werent blue i would have no issue picking the smoked ones, but since its blue i think the orange goes well with it. ive looked all over the net and while driving for my color truck with oem orange cab lights. :taz:
oh well. do you like the orange or have you considered going smoked?

Post by: tobinj on July 10, 2008, 04:21:30 pm: Go with the orange ones they look awesome on that truck but I also have black accessories and they go well to so I think either way. As far as drilling I bought the OEM ones off ebay for $60 and they cam with a template, it took me longer to drop the headliner than actually install the lights. Heres a couple more of my truck dont have any of the cablights in the daytime but theres one from the night I got them installed

Get the hunt setup and I'll do them for ya while Im there, it is pirty easy once you get over the initial fear

I'm in the process of doing a "few" upgrades and I have to take off these nearly new parts.

He got them from Advanced Automotive Concepts. They are expensive. I am actually going back and forth with them right now on getting a set of stock lights done up.

Here is the email I got yesterday from them.

They are handy. Remember when Rich put out his back window with the wheel barrel? If he had a headache rack (or common sense for that particular instance, :up:) he wouldn't have lost the window.

They are, six coats of vht nightshades. The bottoms are black vinyl. I'm gonna vht the bottoms in the spring (warmer weather) It'll be a cleaner look imo.

If you just put a few coats down, thats what happens, I put 6 coats down, with no clear coat, So I doubt it will survive the winter.We will see. With the lights on at night, there is just a hint of purple, but not much. It actually covers well.imo. I saw a few o5's and o4's but The bulbous, (for lack of a better term), headlamps of the o6's and o7's begs to be covered some way , some how. There are vinyl hrd covers, but this is a cleaner look .

Sorry not up on the murder looks bad lingo. Thanks for the headlamps, I like the mean,sick look.lol. As for the scoop, I gotta tell ya, as a 4x4 it 's simply not gonna get much faster than it is. I'm pretty much where I wanna be performance wise, so now it's the cosmetics, And this scoop in particular affords me the ability too make the edges seemless, I just need a heated room for a couple hours. I'm not crazy about the functionality or lack thereof, but it does give me the look I desire.plus I could always stick on a real one. In the future. One mod at a time.lol.
