Title: '99 Ram engine and trans question
Post by: royboom on January 09, 2016, 06:00:25 am
This morning the black ice claimed my '99 Dodge. I know fixing it is more than it's worth, so I'm planning on listing it on craigslist. My question is what is a reasonable price I should ask for it. It's got the 5.9 gas engine and it runs fine. Everything on it worked, air, power windows, no problems with the trans, 155,000 miles. It hit on the front and its messed up the radiator. I drove it home 7 miles after the accident, it was getting warm, but didn't overheat. I don't want to part it out, I'd like someone to load it up and take it away. I'm not sure what to ask for it. I'm in Springfield, OH. Thanks.

List it for a higher number, accept reasonable offers, and see what comes in over email.  You'll get some spam, some tire kickers... First to your door with cash in hand is probably the best method...

If it's just the radiator and some body work, any reason to not find the body work from a junk yard and just repair it? Or just moving on?

The pole hit the front pretty good just off center, then it spun around and a tree hit the box on the driver side.  My wife followed me home and she said it wasn't tracking straight so I imagine the frame twisted some.  We've been planning on a new truck, but trying to hold off for a year or so, but our time frame just got moved up.  Nothing $35-40 grand can't fix.
