Been looking for a new RV for several months. Finally found a floor plan that the wife (mostly her) and I liked. Went by the dealer today and signed the paperwork for a new Heritage Glen 272RLS (Forest River). Go pick it up next Saturday.
Have been thinking about doing it for several years...going from a 5th wheel back to a TT. Made that move with this new unit. Will soon see if that was a wise move or not.

Congrats! Whens the first outing? Being a forest river product, look into the F.R.O.G. group. They have sponsored trips (like the Charleston trip we took back in Nov.) plus a national rally in Indiana in August I believe.

We did the paperwork Saturday. Started cleaning out the 5er Sunday. And the dealer called Monday and told us...sorry there was a mix up, someone bought it 24 minutes before you did. WTF :censored:! BS :censored:...someone offered them more money and they sold it to them.
Same dealer told us they would order us a new one at the same price. I asked what they were going to do to fix their "mix up". I asked for another $800.00 off and they said no... "Sorry, we are as low as we can go". I said see ya.
Drove a few miles down the road to General to see about ordering one. But they found what we were looking for at another location about 3 hours away. It did not have all the options we wanted (Ladder, second A/C), but they would install them at factory cost. They also gave me $2,000 more on my trade in and threw in a Equalizer WD hitch. Suppose to pick it up this coming Saturday. Won't hold my breath until I drive off with it though...lol
We are heading out 3/16 for for 4 nights at Highland Hammock State Park. Just outside of Sebring.
I joined the FR forums...Is FROG a different group?

Yep. With Coachmen being a division of Forest River not only can I go to all the coachmen events as a Coachmen of America member, I can also attend the FROG rallies also
The week after our Coachmen rally in South Carolina the FROG group had the next 2 weeks at the same place.

Was looking at the FROG calendar and noticed the event in Rising Sun IN. That is my Mom and Dad's home town. Where most of our family is from and still lives there. Have camped there once myself. May have to see if i can make it. Longer than a weekend though.

Saturday afternoon we said goodbye to the old rig and picked up the new rig.
Damn...how in the hell did we collect so much shit! :banging: Took us several hours to get our stuff moved over from the old one to the new one. Half the stuff we just put in boxes and hauled in the truck.
Spent half the day Sunday getting everything sort of put away. We ended up throwing away 3 big bags of stuff. It is amazing how much "stuff" you can accumulate. Going from a 5er to a TT I easily lost half of my storage space or better. But decided I did not really need to carry everything I did carry. I had the room in the 5er, so just shoved it in the basement. Went from 8 chairs to 4, etc. etc. etc. Some of the bigger items like tables I can carry in the bed of the truck now that I have it back.

Unbelievable how much stuff one can accumulate in and RV. What I would do is every 2 years I'd take everything out of the RV (storage area stuff). Then anything that didn't get used in the last 2 years went into the shed. Problem was that over the coarse of a year or 2 most everything wound up back in the 5'er. This goes on until I finally get tired of the never ending cycle and buy another 5'er with even more storage. :banging:

Very nice!

Thanks...
Lost some storage but gained my bed back. Really like the floor plan.

We've talked with Space Craft RV about building a bumper pull. Having a 1 level floorplan with only 2-3 steps to get inside is a future idea with arthritis creeping around.
Enjoy your new doghouse!

Another reason we made the change. I had more problems with falling up the stairs...lol. Then there was a 3" step to the master bed...I tripped on that thing on more than one occasion.:censored: Finally said enough of that shit.
