Thanks river, love yours too. Sadly i dont, the hood came with an airbox that comes down on the passanger side wiith a snorkle type deal that connects to the stock airbox that connects with hood closed. I do have a K&N filter in there though. I was going to switch to a higher intake manifold but ive heard that could reduce low end torque so i bagged that. Im working on fabricating an air box, but im stuck on how to block water from entering the filter. I wanna go with a 14X3 round air.

Think bout it this way bro, you now have a truck with a pimp walk. You should paint it bright purple or green with some gold trim. Either way your truck looks slick.
-
If you don't roll with a big cup of orange soda and a hair pick, the look won't be complete.
-
If you don't roll with a big cup of orange soda and a hair pick, the look won't be complete.
Orange soda, Please... there is no soda. its Orange Drink. Jason you should put gold fillings in your trucks grill. Then get dark headlight colors. Boom!, instant glasses and gold fillings.
-
I bow down to the god of Pimpness......

hahaha, common guys wheres all the second Gens at we need to represent.

mowhawk you should have seen the confusion in 3rd gen when I posted a 3rd gen pic thread. People were saying but but there's a cummins pic thread over in ctd so why's there a pic thread in 3rd gen. Its cleaned up now thanks to rich removing 6 or 7 threads LOL.

damn i think thats the first time ive seen your cummins besides in your sig. That sig pic doesnt do it justice at all. That truck is bad ass.
-
Yeah, a lot has changed since my sig was made. One thing you can notice right off the bat is the missing rear running boards. Some old lady whacked one off. That's also why the 3rd gen rims look different as well. The rims used to be the satin finish ones. Now their the polished aluminum. The lady creamed one of my old rims and I couldn't find just one, so I had to buy 4. I decided then to upgrade to the polished and I'm glad I did. The front windows aren't tinted in the sig either.
Damn ... I should change the pic huh?
Thanks for the PROPS !!
Here's some interior shots. I was back and forth about a pillar, but now that I have it I love it. Also if you ever need to replace your steering wheel cover, I can't reccomend the Wheelskins cover enough. It fits and feels PERFECT and looks factory.

Ok mayfair I'll trade ya:::: You can have my hauler idea and I'll take your battery tender idea OK??? hehehe
What is the arrow pointing at in the 1st set of pics ??
-
I was trying to get some help as to why thepiece with the arrow kept freezing up on me. My A/C would work absolutely fine, but then when I started turning down the fan speed, that thingamabob would freeze up and A/C would be non existant until it thawed out. it still does it, I haven't figured it out yet.
Here it is all frozen:
I can walk you through the battery tender thing. It was pretty simple actually. I wired it in when I moved my plug in spot to the rear instead of the front. Since I back into my drive, having it in the rear just made it easier.

May-
I remember seein that interior shot with the a pillar a couple months ago on DF. Man what a difference it makes. I wanna get a 2 gauge pillar for mine, but im gonna hold off.
I love the rims, and the fact its a longbed. The longwheel base is king. Have you straped it to the dyno recently?
-
No, I haven't strapped it down. I don't think I wanna know.
HA HA !!
-
since it sounds like you guys like the long beds here is another for you to check out.

mayfair if you come on a trip up to the pittsburgh area then i will fix your truck for you! actually i will ask my uncle who i know has had this issue with some other dodges before. im sure he will know. im thinking that you might have a line that is partially plugged and thats what your problem is but let me check to be sure.
-
wow... thats a bad ass CTD. We should have a long bed of the month
-
thanks. i try to keep it as nice and clean as possible so that it will last me forever. i usually only keep my trucks for about two years but i think that this one is here to stay. i can't imagine if i had to get rid of it.
-
First off, Motor sick looking job with the liner. I personally love it. Secondly Viper equally sick truck, got a question for ya though..how do you like those turn down tips. Sound nice?
-
i really liked the turn downs because all you saw from the back of the truck was just the tip of them hanging down. The only problem that i had was that i couldn't put on the hitch with them were they were so i had to move them and then found a good deal on the new tips that i have on it now so thats why they are not behind the rear wheels.
-
the turn downs actually sounded the same as it does now with them out to the side. remember though that mine is a ctd and not gas.
-
oh so you dont have turn downs now? What are those in your picture? CTD or gaser its a dodge its badass.
-
They are turn downs, but they are on a CTD (the one in the pic).
-
mayfair if you come on a trip up to the pittsburgh area then i will fix your truck for you!
I may just take you up on that offer Viper - THANK YOU !! I know jack about a/c's and don't really have anyone nearby to teach me.
Thanks !!!
-
i was actually talking to my dad about it and he said that if he could put a gauge on it then he could better understand what it was doing. he said it could be one of the following... the line that is frozen to the drier is half way plugged, could be too full of 134 refrigerant if someone else has charged it, could have some condensation built up in the lines and is freezing them as well. like i said if you are ever near by stop and i will c what i can do. im helping behindbars out on thursday with his window tint. he is bringing his truck in and i have a guy that is coming to the garage to darken them up for him.
-
You're helping bars out? That's awesome !!
PROPS to you Viper !

The green thing on top should be your low pressure cut off switch. As the temperature drops, the pressure on the low or "cold" side of the A/C system drops, and this switch is directly connected to the A/C compressor clutch, and when the pressure hits a certain value, the compressor should click off, then click back on once the pressure comes back up. Next time it gets very very close, or starts to freeze up, see if the compressor is clicking on and off, if it isn't, you need to replace the switch. You'll probably have to take it into the shop for them to fix it though.
Anyways, That is my dad's old 1997 2500 5.9 Gasser, extended cab long bed. It was a company truck, but for all intents and purposes it was his truck, until his company sold it and stuck him with an SUV. Kind of sucks loading a bunch of lumber into a little SUV :-/

NICE rig man, and cool spot for a pic as well.
Did you vote yet on the truck of the month contest?
-
Thanks for all the replies.
Yes - I voted - great lookin group of trucks!
Has a stock intake - I hadn't thought of a change there. I know that Banks makes a dual intake, but didn't really look into what it could do for me.
I think 4x4Fantasy is trying to talk me into making some smoke (I think I encouraged him )

Dont know if you guys have seen mine yet so here it is. 2002 CTD

damn thats bad as hell. H.O.?
-
Sorry Guys. Been pretty busy lately and haven't had a chance to keep up over here. None the less, heres a picture of my truck. Shes not a show winner, but she gets the job done. I'll be picking up a toolbox, some in-channel window vents, and a recon 3rd brake light next week from a buddy who just traded in his 2nd gen on an 08. Lucky me :)
-
Welcome Nice Truck Another 2nd Gen :2cool: :welcome:
-
Nope just a SO. Pcfixer-I like the dual antennas. Do you have them both hooked up?
-
Yep, both are hooked up. Four footers are a bit overkill, but it allows me to get a lower swr than with the dual three footers. My truck doesn't go in the garage so the height isnt a big issue, but if it every turned out to be it only takes a few twists and they come right off. (my antenna's better not be missing in the morning!) lol. I went with the firstik's because the tune tip is a screw so when you make adjustments, it's easier to keep both antenna's exactly the same. The mounts are custom from a cb shop about an hour from me. They look like cap mounts, but are not. Im trying to post a pic, but... not sure if its gonna work.
-
Are those aluminum? Did you run an extra ground from each to lower the SWR? I have a ghetto aluminum mount and my reception is crap--I'm runnin a 3 ft firestick btw
-
I changed the picture because it took me forever to view it, so i resized it down to a smaller chunk. The brackets are custom designed by a local cb shop. There are grounding pin's that are molded too it. They connect on the underside of the lip of the bed. Just little metal nubs that push into the bed just a hair. There is a metal core, but the outside is aluminum. He designed it or something, someone manufactured it for him etc. Idk the whole story, but... yea I got em and they work. Aluminum doesn't conduct which is why you have to use that ground strap. I dont have to. Im running around 1.3 swr which is close enough for me.
-
Those are cool . I dont have a ground strap yet--I need to put one on but should I ground the actual mount where the antenna screws in?
-
Honestly thats a simple question but i've never had to do it. For some reason im thinking the two ends come apart (the part that the antenna screws into), and... the pl-259 end (the part that your cable screws into.) Should leave you with a threaded rod off of the pl-259 plug. I don't have a picture to help ya, but one you have them apart, your aluminum mount should come free now. If it were me i'd put a hoop connector on the rod (plastic washer first if you had one) and then screw the part that you unscrewed back together. If you had the washers it would be as follows. from the underside of the mount pl-259 plug, plastic washer, mount, plastic washer, hoop connector, then the threaded chrome piece that screws the assembly tight. With the hoop connector, i'd run a wire from there to somewhere on your bed, frame, etc. If you would like anymore info / help / etc, just shoot me a pm anytime.
-
Thanks a bunch man--that oughta do it. I hope I will be able to call out.

here is my 2002 Cummins...

-
Hi all!!
I'm new here and love the pic of the second gen rams as I have a 1995. I see some of the trucks have different headlights. where did you get these?
thanks
-
Welcome aboard big !!
LMC carries headlights. Check em out here:

They'll even send you a free catalog if you ask them.

Thanks!! that was fast.

You'll usually find at least one or two of us on at any given time, and willing to help out.
-
another long bed :2cool:
-
ebay is where you can find some like mine....
-
man i cant justify having a short bed truck....i haul too much big/long stuff lol.
NCcummins.....we have almost twin trucks lol
-
man i cant justify having a short bed truck....i haul too much big/long stuff lol.
NCcummins.....we have almost twin trucks lol
long beds are just bigger. the bigger wheelbase is nice too.
-
until you gotta get someplace tight or park in a small lot then it SUCKS
-
Yep!
And ask BigRiver, the extra wheels on the back hang over a lot of parking places
I end up parking a half mile from the store so some dingbat doesn't smash his door into my fenders
-
i like long beds lift about 6 inches a lot...
-
yeah lift it 6" then have no use for towing a bumper pull or 5th wheel/gooseneck......
-
runnin a suicide knob helps alot. i always park out in open lots so no one hits my truck. not that it would matter.
-
you can haul and 5th wheel or gooseneck with a 6 inch lift....just do a few mods to your trailer and raise neck just a bit :punk: but that would be a lot of work just to put on a lift!

a new project with a long road ahead :cho:
That looks a lot like Jakes old truck
What cha got planned?
:popc:
-
Well a long wish list really paint exhaust air box lift pump edge juice with attitude gauges tires and wheels transmission etc. Oh and wishing for 21 mpg and 450 hp
-
I'd start with the lift pump ( I got da FASS ) and gauges first and ten take it from there. Is your current lift pump on the motor or in the tank?
-
Yeah that's where I'll probably start gauges will be last I think because after the lift pump I want the edge and it has gauges good enough for what I'll have at the time when I bump up some more hp I'll go with analog gauges
-

It's just a 3" Pro Comp lift and I took the swaybar off.

Do you know if they make a sway bar dissconects for our trucks? I know they have them for jeeps but have never seen them for anything else.

There used to be a couple companies that made them, not sure if they are still around or not. I just took mine completely off, I get a little more body roll then normal at higher speeds, but after driving it for a day, you don't even notice it anymore.
-
ok guys and gals, i finally got a pic of my truck on forum and will try to get a few more before long
