Daytona / Dodge Dart 13 SXT
« Last post by TovinoThomas on May 22, 2019, 08:59:58 am »
First off let me just say I have no idea about the interior of any car. Today there was flash flooding all around where I live and I needed to be out and about, so here’s me driving in this rain for about 20min and all of a sudden, my wheel locks up and my accelerator stops working. The battery icon is popping up on my dash, but all of my windows and locks work, just not the gas or the power steering. Anybody know what the problem could be?

Caravan / Will the Dodge Grand Caravan ever be discontinued?
« Last post by joe77 on May 11, 2019, 06:41:15 am »
Hello everyone,

So the current iteration of the Dodge Grand Caravan has been in production since 2008 and 2019 models are at dealerships now. You have the Chrysler Pacifica which has been on sale for a couple of years which was supposed to be the successor to the DGC - Marchionne said it was to be discontinued after 2016 - but alas it is still here. Clearly the minivan is a bit aged when you look at the interior and compare it to a newer minivan like the Pacifica. But apparently, people keep buying them.

People may say that the Grand Caravan is much like the rental-car special Chevy Impala, but even that car only went from 2006 to 2016, and for the last three years of production only to fleets. (Side note, love my 2007 Impala, everything creaks and make noises but it’s never stranded me.) You can still buy this van on a dealer lot, though obviously most go to rental lots, and there’s no indication it’s going anywhere.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the Grand Caravan, more than most actually. I think it’s a toaster done right. I really like the way the front and rear look, especially with the Blacktop package. It’s inoffensive (cough cough Nissan Quest) but looks very solid. Also, although the interior is aged, it looks okay. The touchscreens look pretty normal. When I get older I think the DGC would make a cool ski vehicle to take up Mt. Rainier for cheap. It has a solid and bulletproof engine with the 300 horsepower Pentastar, and again, looks pretty nice in black.

But anyway. Sergio Marchionne said he wanted to make a successor to the Grand Caravan, but he’s passed (RIP to the coolest CEO in the car business). Will Mike Manley finally give the Grand Caravan the axe, or in light of its surprisingly good sales, will it just keep chugging along?

EDIT: Just pointing out, I’m pro-Grand Caravan. I like the van as mentioned above, my family van for all of my life until like 13 was a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. Love the vans. Would hate to see it killed.

Thank you!

4th Gen Rams / Morimoto LED headlights for 4th gen Rams
« Last post by Macgomes on May 03, 2019, 08:03:21 am »
Hello everyone,,
Has anyone taken a look at the new Morimoto LED headlights soon to be available for the 4th gen Rams. They look awesome, very similar to the ones on the top of the line 5th gen Rams. Not cheap at all, and won’t be available till end of the month or early 2019, but I am seriously considering them.

The quad reflectors I have on my truck are useless on dark roads, and I don’t want to be that guy that sticks LED bulbs or an HID kit in a reflector housing. I’ve considered converting to the OEM projector lights but I’ve heard they aren’t a huge improvement over the quads.

So far there’s only a few videos and photos of prototypes out there but I really like what I see.

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing great!  I searched around for anything related to my problem but mostly found zip.  Also hope I'm posting in the correct sub-forum, if not, please point the way  .  I have a '06 SRT8 Mag and as far as I know it should be stock (I'm the 2nd owner).  Just a few days ago while at the body shop to get the rear bumper done it started making a ticking sound like that of the usual HEMI tick but much louder, it was accompanied by weird sound similar to a low pitched metal to metal grind (like when train wheels slip but low pitched).  I immediately shut down the engine.  We dug around and speculated about what it could be, and also removed the serpentine belt to take all the external moving parts out of the equation.  Oil level was OK and I personally change the oil every 3k miles and filter (Mobile1 filter and oil) inspecting for metal shavings as I do with all other vehicles I have or had. Once the bumper was done I took it back home on a flat bed.  After Googling I found many problems related to bad lifters ruining the cam shaft in the 5.7 (really similar engine to the 6.1) but nearly nothing on the 6.1. The problem there was the loud tick from locked out lifter rollers but also a misfire code and finally rockers with the lash way out of whack and worn cams. Mostly all also has the dreaded MDS.  I don't have the code or the lash problem (too early yet, maybe lucky).  Haven't reached the cam or lifters yet. Finding nothing to shed some light I'm tearing into the engine one step at a time.  I'm really new to HEMI engines having been a GM guy for the longest (feels like having been born in a bottle, in a corner, in a barn way out in the boonies! SHAME ON ME!!!), the first thing I notice once removing the head cover are these rings on the rocker shaft next to each rocker.  See pics below.  A few are way up nudged against the rocker while most are way off or sort of twisted letting the rocker to slip sideways a bit.  Their are also painted dots on the rocker assembly making me think I'm not the first in there.  Should their be a spring between one rocker and another like in other makes?  Should the rings be all nudged up against the rocker with maybe a specific clearance gap? If so, what is the gap spec? Can anyone throw me a bone here?  Big thanks in advance!   :punk: :helpsmilie:

Hi all!!

Hope everyone is doing great!  I'm new here and this is me. Relatively new to Dodge and Chrysler as an adult but as a kid (seventies) all my family members that could drive had some type of Dodge (Dart, Super Bee, Demon, Coronet, Duster even an Aspen wagon!).  If you had anything else you were a true oddball.  About two years ago I got back into the game buying a '06 Magnum SRT8.  A sleeper, and by sleeper I don't mean steel wheels, skinny tires, bad paint job, granny car with a top fuel engine under the hood.  This was a car that spent most of it's time sleeping in the carport, around 52k miles.  It has been a rollercoaster, love and hate relationship that has grown for the best.  Being almost a garage find it had some things to be done, replaced or updated and being part Mercedes that came at a cost $$ but well worth it.  One of those things has me here today but you can read and reply about that later, once I post it.  Have a great day!!   :punk:

Cummins Diesel Trucks / Looking to build a street strip truck
« Last post by Macgomes on May 01, 2019, 07:08:39 am »
Hello everyone,,xvideos.onl/ xnxx.onl/  chaturbate.onl/
I have looked a lot into parts and what it takes to build the truck and engine, the main thing I’ve been worried about is traction, for a drag truck people always recommend rwd for high horsepower, but I will be using the truck on the street also (not a daily driver, more like a weekend vehicle), I wasn’t sure what would be the best for handling the power, rwd, dually, 4wd, or a 4wd dually, I haven’t seen much debate on 4wd vs dually, it’s always been 2wd vs 4wd, I am leaning towards a 2004-2007 ram 2500 Cummins crew cab, gonna do a compound cobra setup with around 800-900 hp, I have a turbo BRZ that’s my daily, I want this as my next project, any help or advice would be appreciated

2nd Gen Rams / please help, tach stops then C.E.L.
« Last post by rancher75440 on April 23, 2019, 11:38:18 pm »
I have a 99 dodge 24 valve cummins 1 ton, I just purchased the truck, it seems to run ok, maybe a little sluggish. when I start it the tach comes on and works for 5 seconds then it stops working and the CEL comes on. I can wait about 10 minunites and go back and it will do it all again!  I have replaced the crank position sensor and camshaft sensor, checked every ground I could find, cleaned connections, I am lost here! I have a cheap code reader, but cant retrieve any codes with it,  and the key trick does not pull codes either. it never cuts out or dies on me, just the tach and cel.  and it's like it resets itself every time I kill it.  any ideas?
