P0505 On a 318 Magnum
« on: July 21, 2008, 09:25:43 pm »
I'm getting a P0505 (idle air control circuit) on my 96 with a 318 magnum.  I just changed the IAC, TPS & MAP not 4-5 months ago when it stalled at idle speeds.  Now the thing won't run unless you have the pedal to the floor.  Any ideas or is the IAC bad again?

In case you are wondering, I took the IAC off and squirted half a can of carb cleaner in the opening on the throttle body.  It was pretty much clean from whree it was replaced a few months ago.  But that seemed to do the trick for now.

From what I have seen on my car (96 Eclipse- most year Eclipses for that matter) the IAC doesn't really go bad.  just gets dirty.  Cleaning the area and the IAC itself of all carbon build up will usually cure the problem.
