Pretty straightforward if you have the right equipment...
Let's start off on an equipment check.
This is quite possibly the most important piece of equipment you need, without one of these, how would you be doing this anyways?
Next up... this is a floor jack, makes the vehicle go up in the air higher so you have more room to work with.
Next... the oil filter sandwich adapter assembly (which has two plugs teflon taped up, and has the oil pressure sending unit teflon'd up and bolted on)
Then we have an adjustable filter wrench and the oil filter sandwich adapter assembly
Now on to the nitty gritty stuff...
Slide the jack under the truck and lift it up til the tires come off the ground about an inch... meh, just lift it to where you have enough room to work with... this is how it should look...
Next I layed a piece of carpet on the floor and got underneath the truck and found the oil filter...
Be careful to not get any oil on the ground or around you, unless you don't care, me, I do care... haha
Now you want to have this thing slightly tighter than hand tight, apparently I am some sort of superhuman cuz I had it on too tight, and to me, it WAS hand tight... haha... so I grabbed the adjustable filter wrench and carefully removed it, because I'm not in need of an oil change so I saved the filter to reuse it...
This is what the filter area should look like after removing the filter...
Next take a towel or some sort of cleaning device, I used Scott's Shop Towels, and clean off all the oil around the filter opening, want to make this nice and clean...
Then I went ahead and put a small bit of the used oil on the o-ring on the adapter assembly...
Back onto getting underneath the truck again, and this is where I installed the assembly... (the video says something about twisting it on... you can't do that... so I put it where I wanted to be, and then put the new bolt piece through the middle and tightened it down...
Next up, go find your oil filter, like I said, I reused mine, but anyways, take a little oil and put it on the seal on the new filter if new, add a little inside the filter, if used, there's already enough inside... and put it back onto the truck...
Now, go ahead and put the filter onto the assembly you just bolted down...
What's up next? Wiring the sending unit so it has power... mine is a electric gauge, therefore it has electrical readings... some may be mechanical... regardless...
After that, all that should be needed is to hook up the gauge wiring as requires... and do a test check...
truck off...
truck on...
truck on with throttle...
While I was fiddlin around here, I had my voltmeter gauge laying next to me, wanted to do a check on that, as well...
truck off...
truck on...
That's basically all there is to the sandwich adapter install...
