picked up a new (to me) bumper last night
« on: January 11, 2010, 03:06:23 pm »
OK, so I found a bumper cheep on Craigslist over the weekend and picked it up last night.

I know :pics: but, it was late when we got home and pis will come, so will a DIY since I didn't see one for bumper replacement and adjustment...

But I am just so happy to be getting rid of that dented front bumper...

OK, just for you guys I ran out and took a few pics...

Now, the truck is very dirty, so I don't want to hear crap about that, lol...

Here is why I wanted a new bumper, I bought the truck this way to get it at a better price, but once the ghetto rigged front lisence bracket fell off in the snow the eyesore of the front bumper was calling to be replaced...

So I went and got this, off a guy on craigslist for $60, it is in almost perfect shape but only a few scuffs on the drivers side and a slight ding that will be hidden by the front lisence braket...

Here is a shot of the few little scuff marks on it, yes those are all that is wrong with it...

John - you'll find out that whenever pictures are posted - people pick out all kinds of stuff

$60 sounds like a good deal!  You might get lucky and the scuffs will polish out

I'm just thankful he had a shirt on ... unlike some of our posters :P

John those little lines across the top part of the bumper will be covered by the painted piece.  I had them on the chrome one we took off the 3500 and put on the 1500.  Couldn't see em once the bumper cover was put back on

Oh I know the top ones won't show, there are a few little scuffs in that last pic, seen in the reflection of the grass. But hell they aren't really noticable at all and as stated above might even polish out, but for $60 over a $400+ for a new one, is one hell of a deal...

Yes, I normally at least wear a shit when it's freezing temps outside, the bigger question is why was I outside in just my shirt when it was 29*, and that was because I wanted to do whatever it took to get you guys pics, lol...

OK, so I finally got around of putting the new bumper on today. But it was raining so I didn't get a lot of pics swapping them out, but here are some pics of it replaced...

Sorry the pics are a little off it was raining and dark out when I got everything finished, I'll get more next time I wash the truck...

not bad for $60 and a friday evening...
