REVMAX
« on: February 11, 2010, 05:00:28 am »
I have changed this post to represent what has happened to me.  I am not going to erase the information I had found on this person before.

I am happy with the products I purchased from him now that they are all right.  I think that for the price the tc is a great buy.  I would recomend it to others, espicially since the tc and the install were less than what a tc from one of the big names cost.

As you know I have been having issues with my valve body, after tracking the address on the business card on google, I ran into all of this stuff.  I have spoke with Frank a couple of times and he has always been as nice as could be, however when I have brought up the core charge he gets short and always has some reason why it hasn't come back to me yet this last time it was because he was waiting for the valve body I just got installed today to come back to him, this is the second rebuilt by him to be installed in the truck in the last month.  The shop that has been doing the work on the truck is going to try and help figure out what the  :censored: is going on with it.

I was going to wait until I recieved my core charges back from him to start beating on him, but after reading all of the complaints I don't believe that will happen.  STAY AWAY.  Now I am wondering how long before the converter gives up the ghost.

The transmission shop I have been working with has been great.  I strongly recomend them to any one in the area that needs work done.  Thank you very much Aamco of Reno .  They had it all day today and will still be working on it tomorrow, after talking to Denis there tonight and using some of the information he gave me to look at the last valve body that was in it, it looks like this bonehead has been sending me valve bodies for the 47re instead of the 48re.  :taz: :taz:

The problems have finaly been fixed.  Frank stepped up and took care of it by sending the right valve body, refunding me the labor for the last two valve body installs and fixing what was wrong with the process on his end.  The tc now has 7,000 miles on it and is holding great. The vb is shifting when it should and is a pretty smooth shift.  I am torn on if I would recomend his product to anyone else, so far the tc has been a good product and the valve body seems to be good, but the headache to get the right one almost outweighs the amount of money I saved.

Well, to put it into perspective.....

He went much farther out of his way to correct the problem and ensure you were compensated than some other companies would.

There are always screw ups no matter where you look, but the fact that he DID step up to the plate, admit there was a problem and take action to rectify the mistake and make right by the customer is good business.

There are many bigger companies, with much deeper pockets that should take that into consideration.

Got it put in the middle of January. Between my commute to work and the 640 miles every other weekend to get my kids and take them home my truck gets about 4000 miles a month. One thing is for sure, my truck is no driveway queen.
