Should Graduation Rate prohibit college from participating?

So it looks like the NCAA is going to try to change eligibility for conference play.  If the teams graduation rate isn't at the US standard they might not be able to play.

I think it's a good thing.  Seems kids who get to college playing (almost any of the) sports get to hold a seat in a class instead of a kid who really wants to be there and really wants to improve their life.

ok on a side note ... I'd sure hope if someone spent 4 years in college they'd graduate :doh:

I always thought that if you didn't have a passing grade and a legitimate major you couldn't play sports. Or is the passing grade thing only high school?
