Alarm Warning Light
« on: March 22, 2010, 03:28:30 am »
I am wanting to put in additional lights, one on each a-pillar that flash with the alarm light as the red one in the cluster can barely be seen. I have looked all over to see if I could find a wiring diagram with what wire(s) I would have to tap to do this but can't find anything. Does anyone know this, or have a wiring diagram that would show the correct information for me?
Thanks

2003 Service Manual http://pdftown.com/PDF-Dodge-Ram-2003-Service-Manual.html

The red light turns on based on a PCI message.  Not sure if you're gonna be able to tap it:

"The SKIM sends PCI Bus messages to the instrument cluster, to turn on the ’Security” indicator for about 3 seconds when the ignition is turned to the ON position..."

Thanks for the link Jo.

Darn that is unfortunate. I wonder if I can just tap off of that light then. Hopefully I have a nice day out soon so I can take my dash apart and try it.
