03' stearing wheel help
« on: August 01, 2008, 03:51:09 pm »
I have a buddy with an 03' Ram 1500 SLT and his steering wheel has a long oval button on the back that can be pressed in either direction and in the middle of it, there is a smaller little button.
Does anyone know what this is for?
Kinda weird, I have never see one before and it appears to be from the factory that way. But it has no label or writing to say what it does.

 :pics:

does he have an OEM head unit?

on my old car it had steering wheel rad controls and when i was looking to upgrade the head unit most places said they couldnt be sure the head unit will work with the oem controls. so they could be rad controls and just not work with the aftermarket head unit

Just Imagine how many rep points I'd have if I didn't piss off so many people.

If you go to this site http://pac-audio.com/ you can get an adapter that will allow you to retain the factory steering wheel controls with some aftermarket decks. I am planning on getting one when i finally get a deck installed in my truck, i love the steering wheel controls.
