New bike
« on: May 04, 2010, 01:21:53 am »
I went to drop off my Fender Flares at Line-X, as since the Harley Dealership was right next door, I said what the hey, and I swung in to take a look at the bike I had ordered and canceled. Not only did they match the price I was quoted on by AAFES, they beat that price by over $100. So, now I am the VERY PROUD new owner of a 2010 Harley Davidson 1200 Nightster. I pick it up tomorrow.

My wife also got a bike, a 2010 Sportster Iron 883.

So needless to say, the AirDog didn't got in today. Sprockets was closed today, Blake (The Dude) had to go to Houston. So it should be going in tomorrow. HOPEFULLY.

This way, I don't have to drive my truck everyday into and out of the City. Although I am not a fan of riding a bike in the City, it is better than trying to maneuver and live with a giant truck in a land that is built for compact cars.

I had cancelled the order late last week. The guy was giving me the run around, he couldn't answer the questions I asked, typical salesman BS. I didn't really intend on buying the bike today, I was planning on waiting until fall came around, in the off season, but I got an offer I couldn't refuse. I got hosed on the trade in, but I wasn't getting any hits on my bike, so I just took what was offered. I owned the bike, so I didn't go upside down or anything.

Nice Glyn! I hope it is a bit bigger than what I got. Someday I want a Fatboy Lo, or a Wide Glide. Though, I think the Wide Glide would suit a more husky built guy. After sitting on the Dyna Cross Bones yesterday, that is not a good bike for the thin built, short people. The seat is a basically a leather wrapped old tractor seat. It is way to wide and too far forward to be comfortable. After a long traffic light, the circulation would be cut off from your legs from a loss of blood flow.

So, for now, I am perfectly content with the bike I got. This is the one I originally wanted from the get go, I just went bike shopping with the wrong friend. (Crotch Rocket rider.)

Aren't you trying to sell yours? You have to admit that crotch rockets are only fun in short bursts. They suck when you have to go anywhere over 20 miles. You ass starts to fall asleep, and your upper back starts aching pretty bad.

Dude CONGRATS on the new scoot !!

Nice choice on the wheels too. I know a lot of people don't like spokes because they're a bitch to clean, but they look SOOOO good on a Sporty !!

Best of luck with it ( actually BOTH of them )
