some of you may know that i work as a racecar mechainc.
« on: June 28, 2010, 05:45:22 am »
so i have been on the road for that last week or so. i am in Wisconsin at Road America.

here is our car.

We did well all weekend My driver Mike Anderson, qualified on the pole with a 2:16.444 and all was well.

The day started out rainy and cold, and had turned to a beautiful sunny day. Mike had a great start but by lap two he had gotten stuck in slower traffic, and lost two positions. While fighting for second comming onto the front straight he touched wheels with with another driver Juan Marchand, and managed to end our run to the triple crown right at the start finish line.

After making sure that my Driver was ok I witnessed the other driver running down pit lane. He bumped into my driver's dad, and told him that he was going to kill Mike. Dwayne, (Mike's dad) radioed me and told me to follow Juan and make sure that couldnt get to Mike. He never did! I made sure of that, and informed him that he would have to hit me first so that i could give him the ride in the ambulance.

nice day, so anyways here is the aftermath.

So it was considered an avoidable racing incident and they were both awarded a point on ther racing license. (not cool)

there you go now i will be driving back instead of flying, so a few extra days away but, such is life.

That is a cool job. The car looks like it didnt sustain too much damage although I am sure they are expensive as hell to repair.
