DeGray Lake State Park.
« on: July 28, 2010, 12:30:31 am »
Recently took a camping trip to DeGray State Park in Arkansas. This is a park on a lake that's surrounded by property owned by the Corps of Engineers, that prohibits any development.
We spent 8 nights there, with this trip being our 3rd. visit. On our first visit, we rented a camper that was fitting for the movie" RV". This plain jane camper had "rent me" printed all over the sides, and was the beginning of our camping days.

DeGray Lake is man made, as the Caddo River was dammed up and the lake was formed. There are many fingers and islands (used to be small mountain tops) and one can ride nearly 17 miles from end to end.

The park is manly a fishing and water sports destination, but golf, horseback riding are available. Also, if camping isn't your bag, there is a nice lodge and a marina to store your boat.

Anyway.....here's a few pics of our trip.

Walt, do you hook the boat to the back of the camper, or do you have a 2nd tow rig for the Wellcraft?

Dave...Triple towing was my original intent before buying my camper. After ending up with a much heavier 5'er than I originally intended to get, I decided against towing the boat behind the camper.

For this type of trip, my wife June tows the boat behind her surburban.

Ahh.....well.......ah.. NO

No moddin the burban further that it already is, which is only a K&N drop in filter.

That's June's ride, she loves it, and I don't want to rock the boat.
