some food for thought if they don't take care of the outside then they probably didn't take care of the drivetrain either.

Not true, my truck is usually dirty and has some scratches and such, but I keep all the maintenance up to date and documented. You can't judge a book by it's cover. If you work a vehicle for 400K miles it is gonna be "used" inside and out.....
