finding a good 2wd lift kit
« on: September 11, 2010, 11:13:24 pm »
Im new to the board but i just recently bought a 1996 reg cab red bed 1500 5.2 4x2 with 70000 miles and everything on the truck is in pristine condition minus the dash. I want to give it a lift, nothing to extreme but i want about 2.5 in the front and maybe an inch in the back. I want to put like a 235/85r16 under it. All i can find are 4x4 lift kits with the exception of one trailmaster lift thats 2 all the way around. Is this my best option or can i use a 4x4 kit? i dont really want to spend over a thousand dollars but i would like to retain most of the ride quality.

95 12v 4x4 auto K&N drop in. 4 inch turbo back MBRP exhaust, Garmon trans, 4k gsk, 140 injectors, fully modded afc, pump timed, delivery valves, custom ground fuel plate, Phatshaft 62. And a very large list of to do's.

When I lifted my truck I bought a 2" leveling kit for the front and 2" blocks for the rear and all new shocks instead of buying a kit.

You can do the same, they sell 2.5" leveling kits and 1" blocks and get your shocks separate.
