Coming Home
« on: September 30, 2010, 09:34:58 pm »
Hey guys, going to back home in a few days and have some extra cash to play with the truck.  I'm looking in to mods to increase the reliability and fun factor as well as a little horsepower.  My big question is what should I look into with the trans if anything.  I'm going to be picking up a Diablo programmer which gives me trans controll.  But I'm curious if a vlv body and converter would help also.  Everything else is pretty basic, ported throttlebody, shorty wires, rear swaybar, and frame notch.  Also gonna get rid of the open diff and change up the gears a bit.  Any suggestions and info is greatly appreciated.

Very glad to hear you'll be home in time for the big day!

If you're gonna add HP, you know the trans is not gonna like it...

The Diablo, IIRC, should increase line pressure a bit, which should help the clutches, but yes, VB and TC are not gonna like you...

I doubt I'll have parts that fast.  Travel voucher will take a bit and I have to take care of a few other things first.  Then it's game on  :Mechanic:

Gluth should be on the ground tomorrow...talk about irony ....  AF flight full of maintenance tech's; plane has mechanical issues.  Can they let the guys who are highly motivated to get home to family / friends / food / booze / etc  work on the bird ... of course not.  Nope regs say they have to call in a bunch of reservists and wait over 5 hrs for them to figure it out  :argh:

Poor Gluth ... one more night sweetie and you'll be home.  See you tomorrow!!

Rich that's halarious.  After the third or fourth delay announcement the airmen at the couter were starting to fear for their lives.  They actually did a good job fixing it.  There was three broken wires inside a prox sensor connector.  We were a few hours late but it all worked out.  Trucks running good, now that travel voucher has to go through so I can play a little.  :Mechanic:
