fuel plate modification
« on: December 16, 2010, 04:13:37 am »
So I set out this morning to get a lil more power from my 12v. I pulled the intake off so that I could get to the AFC housing. mine had already been tampered with so the break-out screw had already been taken care of.

Once I had marked where the AFC was I took it off. I marked the positioning of the fuel plate and removed it. I was very surprised at the fact that mine was an aftermarket plate.

Here it is.

Now although someone probably paid $195 for it I am more than willing to modify it to suit me.

So with a little time at the MIG table, and some grinding I made my own #10 plate

When I installed it I decided to move it all the way forward along with moving the AFC housing forward too.

Then I messed with the smoke wheel while I was in there and then reinstalled and went for a drive. Very happy with the difference.

I'll probably tune the wheel some more.

Till next time!

the only differences between the P7100 that is on the ISC and the ISB is that fuel plate, its position, and the fuel advance wheel. . .

it doesnt take much to turn the P7100 on the 5.9ISB into the big rig P7100.

A P7100 is a P7100... Only major difference between industrial, Ag, and automotive are the governor assemblies, barrels & plungers, and delivery valves. Automotive P7100 make more power out of the box, but that will all depend on the pump number and application. And that is where the big debate of which is better.

As far as fuel plates we only use 3 options. 0 plate, no plate, or stock plate.
