Rear block questions
« on: December 31, 2010, 08:00:03 am »
I'm not sure what kind of answers you guys can give me on these questions, i'm sorta lost for an answer, i'd ask on a forum like pirate or pavement sucks, but most people there frown upon questions like this that they would call stupid or simple. But anyway...

I have the factory lift blocks in the rear at the moment, does any one know how much lift that block is supposed to give? is it like 2 or 3"? And my other question is, after market lift leaf springs, I'm mainly looking at skyjacker, some websites say to remove the factory block, and others say to leave the factory block and use it. If i have to remove the block then i would need a 6" spring pack correct? Or if the block is a 2" lift, then i can just get a 4" spring pack to make 6", right??

Any help would be much appreciated.  :death:

I think the factory rear is 2", based on the fact that a leveling kit for the front is a 2" lift...

i reserve the right to be blatantly wrong.

Measure them, I would say if they tell you to remove the blocks that would be already figured in, But ASK When you Order

The block would be part of the lift, if the suspension company says to remove it they have factored that in for the spring arch. The springs without the block factored in are going to be stronger because the further you move the springs away from the axle, like with a block, the more the twisting forces try to shear off the u bolts holding the axle in place.
