Reverse lights don't work

I checked the bulbs and the fuse, both good. I check for power at the bulb socket and there was none, any ideas?

oh sorry, I guess I should have mentioned it is on the 1990 dodge w150. It was inspected at the state patrol academy yesterday and failed... so now I have to fix it, and type a memorandum for the drill instructor by monday... 

Oh yeah, first week of the academy was brutal, even all the military guys where complaining about it being worse than their basic training.

There is a plug on the Trans IIRC that controls the lights you might check that

Aaron - which transmission do you have?

4 speed, 5 speed, auto, auto with overdrive?

each has the backup light switch in a different spot

I have the 4 speed manual... man if you knew where for me to look that would be awesome

Backup lamp switch is on top the transmission, drivers side, just behind the shifter (where it goes into the top of the transmission case)

Thanks man! I'll report back soon as I check it... might be next weekend though 

I'm so tired. Those guys said it was worse than their basic... but I'm not sure about that, cause at least we get to go home on the weekends. After 7-11 weeks we will get to go home nightly if we want.
