ignition issue

anybody ever hear of daks having a wireing problem for the starter?
truck wouldnt start yesterday, starter wouldnt click nothing, batteries good, everything in the ignition wireng works as it should except theres no ground the the starter relay?

i have to start it with a wire stuck into the starter connector on the fender (anti-theft)

my buddy says hes seen alot of pushbutton starters on daks and he thinks maybe theres a common problem in these older ones?

i'll give it some effort today, but im not willing to put a lot into it, i have no problems putting in a push button. 8-)
