Got some mods for the other toy...
« on: February 22, 2011, 02:02:54 am »
Sorry - don't have my camera, so no pics...

Already installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake and air cleaner - definitely sounds better, and seems more responsive
http://www.arlenness.com/p-5240-stainess-filterblack-backing-00-10-tc-exc-99-01-fi-flt-08-10-flt.aspx

FEDEX showed up today with the D&D Fat Cat 2 into 1 exhaust - hope to get it installed this week...

It'll then be going to HD for a tuner and about 4 hours dyno time...   :43:

Will get pics when it's all done...  :wait:

Not goin that far...

Just the standard Harley stage 1 tuner and some dyno time to get the fuel right at different loads and speeds...

The fat cat is gonna make it sound like a Harley though - the muzzle it has now just sucks!

I just cheated and took a 1/2 " drill and drilled out the center of the 1st set of baffles.  Gave it a billion times more throat and didn't cost me a dime :D

Thank you Simon for drilling it ... no way I had the guts to do it :P

Decided to do an upgrade there Tom?

I didn't think your bike sounded all that bad when it was stock.  It was definitely throatier than mine.

I picked up a set of Sampsons on sale back in the fall.  I fiqure installation will be one of my spring projects.

Got the pipes installed tonight - bike isn't all the way back together, but got it started  :leg:

It sounds SO much better!  The idle is a bit high, but since it was late, I didn't leave it run long - might settle once warm

I cant wait to get it out on the road!   :punk:

Jo- How much did that effect your fuel mileage?

Tom- How do you like them pipes? I am still undecided between the V&H Big Radius 2-into-1 or the 2-into-2, both Black. I haven't seen anything else that I like from anybody else.

Just got back from a Patriot Guard mission - did about 45 or so miles...

Only got one thing to say

F Yea!!!   :punk: :punk:

The power difference with the pipes and intake is unbelievable - like a different bike!  The sound is hard to describe, but runnin hard thru the gears sounds so sweet!  As it backs down between gears, there is a really throaty sound to it - and downshifting two gears to slow down sounds completely awesome!

Can't wait to drive it thru the tunnel!

I don't think drilling the baffle out effected my mileage at all.

But I also having ridden him since August ... maybe September.

So honestly I have no clue what my :quote: mileage :quote: is right now.  It's somewhere between 48 and 52 miles to the gallon.  With a 3 gallon tank what difference does it make
