Lol ... If you're not having any luck, then why did you pick KS? Did you really want to see if there was such a thing as flying monkeys?

LOL, Donny and Drew!!! I picked Kansas because I have cousins out there that will let me move into their house for free WITH my two dogs. I'm applying to lots of different places, but not getting a bite. I think part of my problem is I am using my current address in NC as opposed to a local address.

Walt- Thanks :)

Yeah.  I learned a long time ago that a lot of states/cities/municapalities will not even look at your application unless you have a valid address in their area.  Some even have personel requirements that you must live in their state/city/municapality to even work there (like Baltimore City and Pennsylvania).

Good luck with the move Kelsey and Lobster.

Thanks. Luckily I still have another month here to figure things out... Waiting on confirmation on a few things before I start making the move. :)

Not all of Baltimore City and PA are like that, it depends on the individual employer. I know a couple guys who live in PA and are paid firemen in Baltimore City and know people in MD who work in southern Lancaster County.

I'm going to try.  But seeing as how it will be a very busy weekend, I can't make any promises.  Weekends just seem way to short to fit everything in.

Just after college like most new graduates, I applied for job positions all over the place; including the PA State Department of Natural Resources.  They pretty much told me that I had to have an in state residence to even be considered.  And, they were very adamant about it too.

I also worked for Baltimore City Parks and Recreation for a while.  I had to use a friend’s address (who lived in the city) on my application.  They even refused to send my pay checks to an address outside of City.

I guess it just depends on the position and if they are willing to work with you over the details or not.  But, I was told in both cases that it was a personnel requirement.

Yea, it's the position. For instance, I work for the PA State Police - if you wanna be a trooper you have to live in PA, civilians can live out of state. 2 different requirements for the same department.

Clarksville is awesome.  My grandma's people live there. (those that are still living)

Gotta hit Pic-a-rib downtown.
Catfish House south of town.
And the old school Texaco station out by the Harley dealer has the best pulled pork in the world.
