« on: June 16, 2011, 12:24:33 am »
Hey guys and gals. I have a 2003 ram 1500 w/ 5.9 gas w/46re trans 2 wd . Had trans rebuilt by buddy 9k ago. Truck wouldnt start acted like dead batt. jump it , started right up. Engine wont rev pass 2300 rpm. acts like under load. Engine is idleing and a big puff of grey smoke comes from the Pass. side behind engine ,trans area? Burnt wire smell.shut it off disconnect batt. cant find burnt wires . start truck idles fine . Put in reverse nothing ,Revs under load. not free rev , put in neutral truck drive in low 1st no up shift, Put in drive it starts in 2nd . start in L1 it works fine shift to drive works great upshift to all gears. stop and it starts in 2nd . Im thinking linkage out of adjustment, maybe. cant figure out the smoke..... The truck was running perfect , I came off the freway and made a stop for 20 min. and this happened.    :banging: dont know if this has anything to do with this but last nite my lamp out keep coming on and off every time i hit a bump. no lamps are out.

My buddy fixed it today. The front / rear clutch pack was  welded together. The pump loss pressure and everything burnt up. Its all back together. now. Thanks for the help.
