so the converter really did show up 2 days early...
but, the driver pulley is 3/4" not the needed 1"...
and then as i was afraid of, the drive sprocket is nowhere near in line with the axle sprocket...
also, since i need to have the final drive pulley in front of the motor (no clearance in the back) i need to mill down some of the bracing in the mounting plate in order for the chain to clear, easy fix, depending on how much i gotta take off i can always add some metal to the backside to make up for it...
