Another turbo car was the mid '80s mustang svo, had the v6 with a turbo.
The Datsun/Nissan 280ZX turbo was fun if you could keep it in the powerband, it sucked with the auto, not so bad with the 5speed if you ran near the redline

I thought the SVO was a turbo 2.3?  I know the thunderbird SC had a supercharger on them.  A guy I knew had a Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD with a bigger turbo, injectors and NITROUS lol, friggon thing ran high 11's

A friend of mine had a Thunderbird turbo coupe with the 4-cyl turbo motor. There was also a 4-cyl turbo Mustang, SVO I believe running around at the same time. The Mustang was impressive, the 'bird not so much. It did have a manual trans though.  When we were just out of high school a friend had a Datsun 240Z with manual shift....man what a fun car. He then traded it off for a Dodge Shelby Charger. Now that was a fun car too! Put over 100k miles on that thing (wore out 2 turbo's in the process  ).

Didn't those Opels have headlights that flipped over? IIRC there was a lever in the car that manually turned the headlights 180 from stored flush to facing forward....

single turbo he was pushing close 1300hp to the ground. all throttle no bottle

he does not have everything hooked up right now, I'm guessing once all is set up and tuned he'll be in the 1500+ range
