Had my truck engine apart for about 2 weeks to swap in my 12V tappet cover, fix my leaking pan gasket, and sent my injectors back to the builder due to the starting issue I was having. Didnt have the timing right last night so I had to re-time it. Got it all put back together today and fired it up. Truck ran awesome. Took it for a drive to blow the raw fuel out of the exhaust and see how it ran. Truck drove awesome and had good power and turbos spooled great. Made a couple 40PSI boost runs. Pulled into the driveway and popped the hood the check for leaks..............That s when I noticed that I had a puddle of oil on the ground under the engine and a constant stream of oil running off my engine. OH CRAP!!!! Shut it off and come to find out, the rear 6" of my tappet cover gasket blew out and is dumping oil. I'm thinking that during my last boost run, it pushed it out. I have been racking my brain and trying to figure out how to pull the cover loose enough to clean the oil off that gasket and reseal it but to my demise, there is no way in hell!!!!!!!!! So, pump has to come off AGAIN so I can fix the gasket. At this point, I am just gonna pull the 12V cover off and order a billet cover and be done with it. Also, while I am in there, I am flirting with the idea of changing my pump gear to a adjustable gear and a billet front cover. Looks like I should've spent a little more time and $$$$ and got these items when I originally did the build. Was I wrong in going this in depth to this truck??? It just seems to keep snowballing with this truck and I'm getting kind of sick of every step I take forward, I take 2-3 steps back.
