4x4 Control Arms
« on: April 26, 2012, 03:21:18 am »
I'm wanting low lower my truck a bit from the 4.5" lift  it has down to about 2.5" because of the wheel well gap it has so I was thinking of the following:

Current upper control arms :19.5" (1" longer than stock)
Current lower control arms : 17" (.25" shorter than stock)
Spring: 17.75" (4.75" higher than stock)

So I wonder... If I get a set of stock springs (plus a 2.5" leveling kit) could I use my upper control arms then lengthen the lower control arms by 1.25" (so both upper & lower would be 1" longer than stock to move the front forward a little) would this work? I could cut the lower in the middle and sleeve the inside of it so it wouldn't lose any strength, and in theory this would still keep the caster in spec.
