got me a new cam
« on: June 04, 2012, 04:14:11 am »
got a new cam for my truck it has a 339 intake lift at the cam 542 at the valve exhaust is 345 at the cam and 552 at the valve. i need new valve springs and 1.6 ratio rockers.  I have the pushrods and studs and guide plates already.  I have a feeling it is gonna be a nasty cam.

Look into the Harland Sharp rocker. They dont need guide plates, best price I have found(guys correct me if you know better) was at www.southeastrt.net.  I was looking at the 1.7's and his price was over $80 buck less that everyone else.  JBA headers where over $100 cheaper for same part #'s.

If you go other than stock on the rocker arm ratio be sure to check tops of valve stems for proper contact. Check the specs on your valve springs too, coil bind isn't pretty

I am just going to get fully dressed alum. heads from hughes.  I already talked to them about what I need.
