No Walt, I am running the stock stator and battery. I knew of another guy running a similar system and he has been problem free running all stock charging system on his bike. So I knew getting into it that the OEM charging system could handle it.
Believe it or not, I play play the radio for 40 minutes and still crank the bike! I found this out last weekend when I played it at around 50% volume for around 40 minutes just to see how long I could go before the battery died, cranked right up!
I also have a Dynojet Powervision programmer mounted on the bars and I monitor several gages including the Battery Voltage, while cruising and jamming the radio at full volume, it never drops below 13 volts. Idleing is a different story. It will drop down in the 11's while sitting at a stop light.
