Hissing Durring Accelleration
« on: November 04, 2012, 01:26:47 am »
Hello, To many who have experienced a short-coming in the stock plenum, you may already have an answer for me. I have recently started experiencing a hissing durring medium accelleration that sounds like massive air flow thru a filterless throttlebody. It goes away or is quieter durring heavy accelleration and low end idleing around town. I know the other symptoms I'm having are due to the plenum needing to be repaired. That is on next month's budget for the Hughes upgraded plenum cover and kit, but I just wanted to know if this is just another symptom of the gasket blown out. Any help?

it could be... but have you changed the throttle body or the intake on the truck?

instead of getting the fix through hughes, there is a guy selling the same aluminum plate for a lot less than the hughes price. plus, then you could use the felpro gasket which ppl like using that one more.

No, I haven't changed any of the intake other than adding a K&N Filter years ago.

Please attach a link for the plenum plate you are talking about so I can look into it.

Thanks, JJ

Do it if you want! Lol

Him and another guy did some how to's and mods that are good to do... I just went directly to them since I had dealt with them over different parts and stuff... got the throttle body mods on pdf on my laptop lol the belly pan fix is just so easy and if yolu have experience taking down the engine... it really doesn't take long at all.
