OK I noticed that when my08 6.7 Cummings  truck idles a while, after a few min, it sounds louder and the intake pressure goes from vacume to pressure. Is that the egr turning off or is there something else going on?
 Thanks,,,

How cold is it where you are? it may be the automatic high idle kicking in.

Again... It's CUMMINS, not CumminGs...

Now to your question...

Do you have the exhaust brake turned on? That will make a big difference in the sound.

nope the jake break is off. After idling say 4min the engine gets louder (sounds like it comes from the intake side also , I had the map sensor out and it had suction untill the truck got louder, than it had pressure...not sure if its the egr shutting off (the crossover tube seems to get cooler then) or the turbo just spins up some ..
BTW my spell checker does not like cummings
 Thanks
