Joe, here is my experience with SBC support. Not long after my DD3250 was installed there was a failure of the neoprene bushings in the spacer plate. SBC knew there was a problem but was not able to detect exactly where the issue cropped up in their manufacturing process as an outside manufacturer produced the bushings. Well, that manufacturer changed something in their formulation for the neoprene bushings which meant a massive failure with their dual disks. SBC being who they are redesigned the flywheel and spacer plate to mitigate future failures.

I called up SBC and talked with one of their reps. They confirmed what I suspected and sent me the new upgraded flywheel and spacer plate at no charge. There have been zero issues since the replacement.

I doubt there are many companies which stand behind their products as they do.

Now which one would be best for you? That depends on what power adders you have and how you use your truck. If you call SBC directly they will narrow down and help make sure you get the best bang for your buck.

Good customer service. I had a single disk that warped and was nearly impossible to engage/disengage a gear.  After a few phone calls and emails and a tear down to get pictures they sent a new clutch out. The only thing I disliked about the southbends were that they are noisy. So now I'm running a valair.

So far in 70k miles my SB single has been just fine. I wouldn't recommend the organic ferramic lining if you tow, but it has not let me down.

Rich and I have installed quite a few SB's and I'm always impressed with their quality, I would call Rich (Cumminalong) and have him quote you a price.

Thanks. I will go with the single disk.. I do not tow often but when I do I want to be able to ...the stock clutch sucks and as I bought this truck used I have no idea what they put it thru ...When I shut it down sometimes I hear a clank sound ...I'm thinking some of the rivets in the stock clutch are sheered off...just a guess ...

No, what you have going on is what happens to every stock, dual mass flywheel clutch....the springs in the flywheel that dampens the engagement are shot and the two plates are beating each other up. When they get bad enough, the truck will shake like you lost a couple cylinders.

It doesn't sound like you need anything drastic, but if you're going to do ANYTHING other than stock power, you want the OFE. That's the most common single disk setup we do.
