AR15 Trigger
« on: August 17, 2013, 11:52:22 pm »
If money were no object, and the rifle were to primarily be used for target (but do not want to lose reliability), which trigger would you drop in?  I've looked at AR Gold, Geissele (SSA, SSA-E, NM-DMR), CMC etc.  Just not sure which way to go.  I am looking for a crisp 2 stage break.

What's wrong with the current trigger? I've never understood the hype of building custom guns; though I'm not a gun nut either. Proper trigger squeeze is all you need.

I have JP Enterprise trigger groups in my AR's (DPMS models). The creep is diminished and trigger breaks at about 4 pounds, about the lightest I could reliably set it at given the semi action and thoughts of a second shot misfire.

All mine were part of the package when buying the rifles, though you can probably get them on line, besides from DPMS as well. Drew has one also, he may chime in on his opinion of them.

Plain Jane Stock (for now)

The short answer is... the stock trigger does the job.  On the other hand an aftermarket trigger can make the pull lighter and consistent on the first stage, and break clean and predictable on the second stage (if you have a 2 stage).  You'd have to try one to see the difference.  I tried a CMC 3.5lb curved drop in the other weekend, and the reason for the post.

Ed, I've heard mixed reviews on them.  How long have you had yours?

Walt, I will look into JP Enterprise

I was offered a killer deal I couldn't refuse on an SSA.  I guess that takes care of that... lol
