Pioneer 700-4
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:36:58 pm »
My new toy just arrived today. This is Honda's newest side by side, the Pioneer 700-4. Still at the dealership being prepped and serviced.
This is a 4 seater which has 2 flip up seats in the bed. Not the fastest machine out there, but I'd put money on being the longest lasting and most dependable.

Once I have it home, I have some cool accessories to add to it.  :wait:

Another cool thing about this, here in Louisiana we take the 2nd Amendment very seriously and our Governor and Legislature has proclaimed this weekend as the "2nd Amendment Weekend". NO TAX on all hunting and shooting items!

Just brought it home this evening. The only pic I have was taken at the dealership.

Got a few parts to install in the coming days, waiting on a few more to come in.

That looks like a sweet rig.  And can't go wrong with Honda.

Very nice Walt! Speed isn't everything, especially off road. With experience in a roll over in a Can-Am side by side about 5 months ago, I highly recommend an aftermarket roll cage for that thing. I was in a nasty endo about 2 weeks before my daughter was born. Crunched the cage to the point where it contacted mine and the drivers head. The front tires never left the ground to give you an idea on how soft the cage is.

Mitch, I know what you mean about the rock crawlers. Wether it's the jeeps or the side by sides, those guys get themselves into some hairy positions and situations. Here in my region, there are some slight hills but certainly nothing that would engage a roll over unless it was driver/speed induced.
This machine wil be all about comfort and utility. Just an easy, dry ride out to the deer stand being protected from the elements.

Sweet! Ya know after awhile speed hurts.  I would much rather be slow and walk later that day, than be fast and flying and unable to walk in a few hours.
You can't fix stupid

Almost a full cab. I have a full length roof, a solid tempered glass windshield, a tempered glass rear panel with sliding section(like a p/u). Keeping the doors as they are.
A few other accessories on order, but just making this weather proof to a degree and as comfortable as possible for hunting.

I like how the seats fold down for a bed, and up for passengers. Pull them up and cruise with 4 people, put them down and there's room for a elk.  ;D

Great thanks Walt!  Now the hub is all oogling over this. :banging:

Granted the Polaris dealership that did some work is the #1 thing he doesn't like about his 570.  Thankfully Polaris has found a way to square this so it will be back in tip-top-shape shortly (Hopefully! or all hell may break lose). I did love one of the comments on Honda's site about the new air-box design; with the issues with Polaris putting the filter at the top of the intake and having the inlet at the lowest point of the box made that statement seems like a direct gab at Polaris.

Added a few accessories today, so far just the roof and front windshield. A-Arm Guards are waiting to be powder coated.
Bring on the fall and winter!
