Weird "play" in rear wheel
« on: November 17, 2013, 05:59:37 pm »
Hello everyone,

I'm new on this forum and already having an issue. As I was swapping my tires yesterday, I noticed a little play in the left rear wheel. It has some play if I turn the wheel by hands left and right (front and back in reference to the vehicle). It happens also if I try to pull the wheel or the brake rotor away from the vehicle. I tried with the right wheel and didn't encounter the problem. My Ram is an 06 4x4 with the 9.25 LSD rear differential with the oil changed few weeks ago. Something I also noticed the last time I drove her is that I can hear a "tic tic" noise only present when I drive slowly (5-10 mph).

Does anyone know what the problem is ? Thank you !

Not sure but to me it sounds like it could be a wheel bearing

Ya, sounds like it to me also. There will be a slight amount of play in and out, put I'm thinking there should be virtually no play side to side or up and down.
