Anyone having an issue connecting with Chrome?
« on: December 07, 2013, 12:03:09 am »
I get a "This webpage is not available" message when trying to connect using Google Chrome - ver 31.0.1650.63 m, according to about Chrome.

Windows 7 64 bit machine.

It started today, last time I tried to connect was 5:00pm central time.

I can view the website fine with IE.

We did do the whole move thing not to long ago ... but if that was going to break ya it would have done so then not today.

I just ran the update and got Version 31.0.1650.63 m and have no issues loading the main site.  Are you trying to hit http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/  OR http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf OR http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf/index.php (Favorite pre-set w/ the full redirect possibly) or anything like that? I ran them all and they all worked fine FWIW

Chrome does try to play with tap-a-talk did you install that add-on?

Interesting.  www.dodgeownerforums.com still fails; www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf works fine and so does http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf/index.php

I didn't see any add ons, I used to get the tapatalk message, but thought I disabled/removed that then.  Oh well, either way, I'm back working with Chrome.

Thanks

Something on your system is keeping it from re-directing then.  We've got a re-direct setup to push from .com to com/smf (some of you may notice 'please wait while the forum loads' messages randomly).

I'm able to capture that Chrome is hitting it and re-directing as expected on my machine.

Yep.
I get the redirect just fine with Chrome.

Version 32.0.1700.41 beta  (Mac)

Well, I put in a forward so that www.dodgeownerforums.com  should forward to http://www.dodgeownerforums.com/smf/

I dont know if that's gonna help you as It may not show up in DNS for a while. It is probably a setting though i keep security fairly high on my chrome install and cant see anything that might affect it.

I just deleted all history/cache, ect and it now forwards correctly.  I work in software support, you'd think I'd pay more attention to that stuff.

I've had the same problem over the last couple of weeks too, Trevor.  Hadn't happened before then.

Wonder if there was a site upgrade that is messing with Chrome's innards?

well, considering this thread is from DEC 2013 I doubt there's still an issue.
