New lights for truck.
« on: December 09, 2013, 02:52:23 am »
I am in need of new bulbs for my truck.  What are good ones to go with to get the brightest bulb?  The stock ones are not the best.  What are you guys using?

There's a trade off in changing to the britest bulbs.  They don't last.  If its aggravating to change them consider if its worth messing with every month or too.
Another idea to look into is a BriteBox from Geno's Garage.

Britebox?  I have never heard of them.  Are they pricey?  Have you ever used one?  Are they easy to install?  Thanks for the input

I replaced mine with some brighter set from Autozone that were listed in the catalog, I think.  I can't tell you what since my truck and I are separated by about 3,000 miles.  They were a bit brighter, but I had already lost one in a much shorter time than the OEM bulbs.  been considering what to do in terms of replacement, but since I'm not around with it, I haven't done anything.

I think... Sylvianna X3 or something?

I'm a new X3 user, I like the lights so far... they are a stop gap for me to save up for HIDs from a supplier that doesn't do China crap, and he puts them in projectors so I don't blind everyone.

So far the x3 bulbs are working well... the Sylvania ultras didn't last, the PIAA bulbs burnt out super fast...

Man you really do lose lifetime on the bulbs. Just going up in brightness 30% cuts the life in half(to 700 hours)...

Thanks for the input guys.  Mine are the originals from '05 and they are dim enough that no one notices when I have the hi-beams on.  Just wanted to freshen up with new bulbs.  I read that it is a good idea to install new ones periodically.  Thanks
