Pat surprised me with a fallow deer hunt. He told me we were going for hogs until we got to the lodge. It was awesome! We got notice the guides spotted him near the creek so I rushed from the blind to the opposite bank of the creek and got to stalk him for a bit until I got a good shot on him. He was bigger than we thought and is a gorgeous cream color. I'm having him done as a shoulder mount to go opposite Pats white tail buck and the rest of the hide soft tanned. He was taken with the mini30 at about 40-50 yards

Congrats! I also use a mini-30. No deer with it yet, but glad to hear it will do the job. Any special ammo or just the standard 7.69 hunting/hollow point?
