1974 Charger Ralleye project
« on: April 15, 2014, 06:44:53 pm »
I got this off Ebay for 3K even in Denver a couple of years back. It is a 1974 Dodge Charger, same year car I drove in High School. It is a Ralley(R/T) big block, 4 speed, posi trac w/sway bars, and very rare factory sun roof car. The car currently has a built 440 with an automatic tranny.  Looks kinda rough from a primer sanding job but it actually is solid and straight with a couple of "Chevy-pox" spots that needed attention. All the trim, chrome, mirrors, interior panels, marker lenses, etc are in the trunk. It is missing the gas tank. The car was parked in a storage garage since 1983. I have already picked up some folding/hidden headlight grills for it and tons of go fast stuff!!! I completed the body work and painted it last summer. That took me 2 years to get it close to perfect as a beginner could do and am very proud of my first paint job. The engine is at the machine shop now, 440 getting the stroker crank kit, going big 543cubes! I welded in sub frame connectors and ART torque boxes.  The 742 8 3/4 has the sure grip with 4:56 gears. I have 2800-3200 stall converter too. Should be very torquey, which is what I am going for. I want it for street use.

I use the local community college autobody class at night to spray, it was $300 for 5 months use.
