Wallet Keys?
« on: June 05, 2014, 06:06:26 pm »
Hi all -

Just bought a 2014 Durango Limited, and so far loving it . . . except for that huge clunky key fob.

Is there any aftermarket option to have a key that would fit in my wallet made?  I know i've seen these on some cars before, but realize the chip would have to be installed, or the frequency programmed.

Would love to have one less thing to keep in my pocket, especially since you really never use the key at all.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts!

They changed the key again?! hmm that's cool.   Sorry don't have any suggestions though.

Haven't heard or seen anything like that, but I do have a State Trooper friend and he just puts his key away in an unused pocket, can unlock and start the car no issues.

Check kickstarter or something, they might have a project up your alley.

There is an emergency key inside the key fob. Can probably have one cut off that to store in your wallet.

I am assuming you have the big stupid fob with key inside but also have push button start.  It is a really stupid size but i don't think you will find any aftermarket keys for it.  The remote keys have to be programed with Chrysler scan tool and the programing is encrypted.
