Transfer case issues?
« on: January 06, 2015, 08:45:17 pm »
I have a 2000 2500 4x4 auto with a Cummings. Last week it wouldn't go into 4 wheel drive. I frigged with it a little but was in a hurry so I left. I had the stick in 4 hi and went about 1/4 mile and my drivers rear wheel locked up. I realized I was still in 4 hi so I shifted out, backed up, the unit freed itself up and ran with no problem. When I got home I found a vacuum line off under the transfer which I rehooked but no luck. I have no 4 wheel drive and the truck will load up in about 1/10th of a mile and still lock the same wheel. It runs just fine in 2 wheel. Checked all the vacuum lines, everything seems okay. Plenty of fluid in the case, I can turn the front driveshaft in 2 wheel, it locks in in 4 wheel like it is supposed to. Anyone had a similar issue??
