Ram ranked #55 on vehicle list by tickets
« on: October 01, 2014, 03:10:19 pm »
Insurance.com released their new numbers for the year.  Grouping over 550,000 insured drivers by the # of tickets they have and the make/model of vehicle they drive nationwide.

Ram Truck is #55: 24.6% of drivers of Rams have tickets. Average for all vehicles 19.9%
Dakota is #245
Charger is #70 ... how can that be less than Ram owners?   Me thinks w/ the Hellcat's release that number is going to change next year  :rotflol:

Top 10 vehicles:
Subaru WRX (well duh they are kinda bad-ass)
Pontiac GTO (yeah that GTO badge gets the boys blood boiling)
Scion FR-S (really? didn't expect that)
Toyota Supra (see vehicle #1)
Subaru Tribeca (really?? soccer mom's get tickets?)
VW Rabbit (heck yeah!  Europe's hottest hatchback better be on this list)
Mercury Topaz (sure volume or just the total time these things have been on the road?)
Scion TC (see vehicle #3)
Toyota FJ (see vehicle #5)
Mazda  Mazda2

So everyone fess up ... how many do you have?!?!?

I have not had a ticket since '03 or '04 I can't remember which year; grand total in 20 years of licensed driving is 3.  Been stopped twice since; but gotten a verbal warning both times. (and NO I did not cry or flash boobies or anything else to get out of them :tt2:)

I've had a clean record for several years now. Last ticket I got was for no proof of insurance, just couldn't find the card, ticket got dropped in court. That was probably 8 years ago? Gotten out of several tickets since, even when I had the STI! Now driving a WRX, but haven't been stopped in it yet....  :fart:

Yeah, my last two tickets and two warnings were driving the truck.. Turns out that the oversized tires were the culprit.. was going faster than I thought.. once I dropped the tire size had much less trouble...

My last two tickets were in the past 5 years.  Both for speeding, of course!
The most recent was in my Dakota, the one before that was in the Subaru.  Sure, it may not be the WRX or STI, but an RS is quite a bit of fun.   ;)

I'm kind of surprised that a supra is on there considering that they haven't made it in over a decade...

Life sucks.....so drop your pants and let the good times roll!

I think life is too short to spend your time working someplace where people don't crap their pants at the mere sight of you.

My last ticket was a few years ago.....1988 if I remember right.  ;D Got caught speeding in a 25mph zone. I was going 25mph, but with 36" tires on the jeep I was evidently going faster than 25. Being all mechanical, there wasn't a cheap way to fix it. And hand held gps's weren't available yet. So had to drive next to a buddy on the highway at certain set speeds so I could compensate.

To be honest, if I see a cop on the road around here more than once every 3-4 months I start thinking some low life is gonna get his house raided.

As for some of them cars on the list, you can get a traffic ticket for going to slow. I'm guessing this was the case for the Mercury Topaz. As for some of the others, I imagine the owners had to go fast so no one would recognize them driving such cars.  :fart:

Last time I got pulled over it was for :quote: excessive acceleration :quote:. I didnt exceed the speed limit, but the fact I had white smoke from the back tires and even more black smoke from the exhaust didnt help. Also that it was on Ft. Lee just made things worse. Made off with a warning from it.

How the hell did you manage only a warning?
