what happen' to the smarty
« on: December 23, 2014, 07:22:50 pm »
hey everyone, I have been outa my mind for the last few years and not keeping track with everything should have.
So reading around I seems that the smarty me and the xrt pro ( 6.7L) have been cast out.  can anyone fill in the gaps for me...at least on these items.
Thanks
6" lift, DPF delete, EGR delete, Smarty, xrt pro overdrive, GDP grid heater delete, S-3 intake, and S&B cold air intake.

I had the Smarty Jr. until one of their software updates was bad...IMHO. I went to EFI about a year ago. No going back!

H&S got into trouble with the EPA. Not sure what the latest is with them.

I do believe Ken Z is still using a Smarty.

They're still around, but the EPA cracked down on all the main players for removal of the emissions stuff.  They had to stop making the delete programming about a year or so ago.  A few of them got fined a pretty good chunk too.

Smarty is still around and producing emissions legal tuners.
There are offshore models (read "na-na you can't touch me now") of the Smarty ME (now Raceme) and H&S tuners (now Torque Tech)  available to accomplish delete tuning as well as EFI.

Awhile back the EPA did some hand slapping and reeled in the manufacturers....especially the ones offering the delete tunes. Since none of it pertains to me I haven't paid it much attention. I still have my Smarty jr. but haven't run it in awhile. Currently using a Smarty Sr. and it's doing what I need it to do. But make no mistake, if they ever made the EFI Live work on a 2005 I'd be using that in a heartbeat!

I MAY BE OLD, BUT I GOT TO SEE ALL THE GOOD BANDS.....
